Today we had our first read of the script for The Button Box, Year 5 and 6’s Autumn Term production. Great first session everyone – can’t wait to explore the script further tomorrow!

I really enjoy the button box it is very different to what we did last year . So its a nice change for all pupils in year 5 & 6 . Here are so.e of my ideas that I would like to share with all lf year 6 .
. We could split off into 4 groups because there are only 4 characters so one group could be Jake , one group Alice , one group grandma and the other grandad . So everyone has a line or phrase to say .
. I really like Harlems idea of the chairs as a project to do in class because in one of the stage directions it says that grandma sits back down .
Hope you like it , here are only some of my ideas π€·πΏππ½
When we got the script I thought why is it called Buttun box , then I thought why are there only 4 people when we have 2 whole classes to go through . And the songs are wired , one called belly button I found it funny with laughter . Today in our group it was fun !ππ!
How do you think we should organise parts? Could we have different people playing Grandad? How about having groups playing smaller sections of the script?
I think we should split the year groups in half, and 1 half of year six would share the lines out of one character, same for the other half and the same again for year 5! π

I like the idea of having groups. We should be able to get to know these 4 characters really well!
The button box script was really interesting because grandma had lot of buttons and they all had story to it

So, how can we get 2 classes to play these 4 characters? Any ideas?
You know the character you know they have a lot of things to say there can be more Grandmar more Grandad and more Alice and more Jack
All can play the same part in difrant sections
Sounds like a great idea Oli. Each group could have a small section of script to make their own.
Hope you and your family enjoyed the Cobblers on Saturday. 6-0! Biggest win since October 1988!
